“Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget” to receive its world premiere at BFI London Film Festival 2023
Egg-cellent news for the fans of “Chicken Run”. Twenty-three years after the release of the beloved and highest-grossing stop-motion animated movie of all time, we finally get the eagerly anticipated sequel as “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget” is set to receive its world premiere at BFI London Film Festival 2023. During the gala screening on Saturday, the 14th of October, we will see again what adventures Ginger, Rocky, Babs, and our beloved chickens are up to!
It seems that Ginger has her dream life. She’s found a peaceful farm for her friends, and when she and Rocky hatch a little girl called Molly, she has her perfect happy ending. However, when the flock faces a new, horrible threat, they must break in to save their fellow chickens, even if that would mean risking their hard-won freedom.
If you want to hear the voices of Thandiwe Newton (Ginger), Zachary Levi (Rocky), Bella Ramsey (Molly), Imelda Staunton (Bunty), Lynn Ferguson (Mac), David Bradley (Fowler), Jane Horrocks (Babs), Romesh Ranganathan (Nick), Daniel Mays (Fetcher), Josie Sedgwick-Davies (Frizzle) and Nick Mohammed (Dr Fry) but don’t live in London, don’t worry. There will be simultaneous screenings in cinemas in Nottingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Belfast, Sheffield, Newcastle and Bristol that Saturday.
The movie, by multi-Academy and BAFTA award-winning Aardman (“Wallace & Gromit”, “Shaun the Sheep”), and Academy Award and BAFTA-nominated director Sam Fell (“ParaNorman”, “Flushed Away”), will debut globally on Netflix on the 15th of December 2023
The 67th BFI London Film Festival, in partnership with American Express, takes place from the 4th of October to the 15th of October, 2023. The reveal of the full line-up takes place on the 31st of August, 2023.
