Bill Skarsgård has been making a name for himself by portraying incredibly creepy and unnerving characters, from the potentially dangerous killer in Barbarian to a bloodthirsty vampire in Hemlock Grove and from the murderous Pennywise in IT to the rebellious lead character in the upcoming The Crow reboot. However, in his latest feature, he shows his brother Alexander, who battled it out naked in The Northman, that he can be an equally great bona fide action star.
At first, you might not think that Boy Kills World will be an adrenaline-fuelled movie full of explosions, shooting and over-the-top acting scenes as it starts slowly. That’s mainly so you can get to know the lead character, Boy (Skarsgård), and the motives behind his actions. Ever since he was a kid, this young man has been raised as a killer with one goal on his mind: kill matriarch Hilda Van Der Koy (Famke Janssen), an evil ruler of the dystopian society who looks like she has come straight out of TheHunger Games, who killed his parents and sister and who left him deaf and mute. After going through what seems an endless training program, it’s finally time for Boy to go out there to kill the entire psychotic…
